50110:  National delivery service explodes with work!  While our daily work with a very well know national provider has gone down during the week for critical spare parts deliveries, they exploded with 17 orders on Saturday.

50410:  We get call from the TV show TMZ!  They called asking if we could pick up a court document and fax back to them.  Order was cancelled.

51110 TMZ calls again:

A law firm asked us today to deliver an envelope and a potted plant to a laywer’s residence in Lincoln Park.

Another new lane configuration from 355  to Meyers Rd.  Outbound transit is 1 hour from downtown to 355 at 6:00 AM and 45 minutes in from 355.

The inbound Northwest Tollway has been surprisingly fast during the morning rush while the Stevenson has been very heavy inbound.

We are now delivering the 2nd of 3 lap tops since yesterday.  Today we are delivering one to a residence and antother from a downtown address to antother.  We do NOT use bike couriers for these.

On this the morning of the tax deadline, April 15, the Eisenhower, 88 and the 290 extension are clocking in at over 1 hour each way —at 6:00 AM!

At 7:30, traffic is worse at 1:15 minute for each commute.

As happens on a regular basis, a customer sending something to a regular customer handed the courier a blank envelope.  When he asked them to adress the shipment, the address changed!

From this morning’s Trib:  The commute will be more difficult this morning, if that is possible.  Left lane from Church to 88 was closed permanentley overnight.  Construction now in full swing.

The full impact is now being being felt as of Friday, April 9th.  Lanes now shut down in both directions and traffic chronically slow all day.

The first weekend of April found us doing a lot of last mile delivery work for a national delivery provider.  Two shipments on Saturday, one was a spare part to a Jewel food store.  On Sunday we got four orderers within 15 minutes.  3 going from their Bensenville warehouse to O’Hare to two arlines and 1 coming downtown to Greyhound.

We also did 3 residential deliveries for a law firm.  11 orders over the weekend.

One of our customers calls this morning to place two orders.  He calls back this afternoon to ask if we can pick up a return item from one of the addresses.  We can not hear him and it turns out he is calling us from the Cub’s home opener.  As he is hanging up the phone he was heard to yell, “I told you they could do it.  These guys rock!”
